Abstract: The paper describes complement clause constructions in the Nanai language based on corpus data. It discusses the most common structure of these constructions and deviations from it. All constructions are analyzed in terms of control and raising. Sentences with coreferential subjects in the main and dependent clauses require obligatory control. In cases with non-coreferential subjects, both control and raising are most often absent. However, in rare instances, constructions of object control and standard raising constructions occur. Unambiguous constructions of backward control or raising have not yet been attested.
