Abstract: The article describes concessive constructions in Khwarshi proper dialect of the Khwarshi language. For Khwarshi, the main and, perhaps, the only way to express concession relations is by using polypredicative constructions with concessive converbs.

The first part of the paper provides a morphological description of concessive converbs in Khwarshi proper and some information about their syntactic properties.

In the second part of the work, we characterize the Khwarshi concessive constructions from a typological perspective. The Khwarshi system is interesting, for example, in lacking of grammatical means for expressing the factiveness of the protasis and, accordingly, the non-distinction of conditionally concessive and causally concessive constructions, as well as the presence of “hybrid” constructions, which combine the features of alternative and universal ones.
