Abstract. The article discusses the problem of the absolutive licensing in non-verbal predicates in the Q’eqchi’ language. The article highlights the variability of the position of the absolutive marker in relation to the stem in verbal and non-verbal predicates in Q’eqchi’. An attempt to analyze such variability is proposed from the point of view of morphosyntactic operations caused by Infl and v in the structure of non-verbal predicates.
